Bird Flu Confirmed at TwinLakes Theme Park

Bird flu has been reported in poultry and captive birds at the Twinlakes theme park in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. DEFRA, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has identified the strain as H5N8 and has put 3 and 10 kilometres Temporary Control Zones in place. Car Driver Runs Over Police Officer’s Foot

After being stopped for having no insurance, an Audi A4 driver ran over a police officer’s foot on Thursday (19th November). The vehicle was stopped at approximately 8pm on Lands End Way in Oakham after being identified as having no insurance in force for the said car. Whilst speaking to the driver and the passenger, the driver drove away running over one of the officers foot and catching his leg. Fortunately the officer did not sustain any serious injuries.
