Car Driver Runs Over Police Officer’s Foot

After being stopped for having no insurance, an Audi A4 driver ran over a police officer’s foot on Thursday (19th November). The vehicle was stopped at approximately 8pm on Lands End Way in Oakham after being identified as having no insurance in force for the said car.

Whilst speaking to the driver and the passenger, the driver drove away running over one of the officers foot and catching his leg. Fortunately the officer did not sustain any serious injuries.

Leicestershire police are now making enquiries to find the car and driver, but as yet no arrests have been made. The enquiries are still in progress.

Simon Cole, the Chief Constable of Leicestershire tweeted this type of incident was “not acceptable”.
