CRAFTSPERSONS OPENED A POP-UP SHOP IN OAKHAM
A number of craftspersons opened a pop-up shop in Oakham on Thursday. The goods on display ranged from handmade soaps to ceramics and art. Other stalls displayed skincare and toiletries.
The shop is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from nine o’clock in the morning to five pm every day.
The idea of the pop-up shop is to encourage shoppers to visit the Victoria Hall to look around the crafts on offer. Hopefully it will also encourage shoppers to shop as well.
It should also encourage people to shop locally and recognise that there are Christmas gifts on sale made by independent craftspeople.
Because her annual exhibition was cut short due to the second lockdown, Connie Taylor thought it a good idea to hold a pop-up shop. Connie admitted it was hard to organise the event but she managed to bring it to fruition.
Besides Connie Taylor and her ceramics also exhibitions was Somerby Soap, Artists Rosie Henthorn-Wigmore, Stephen Henthorn-Wigmore, Truly Confident Cosmetics plus others.
