Rutland Showground Hosts NASC Street Rod Nationals

40 years ago the National Association of Street Clubs-NASC-actively campaigned to unite all rod and custom enthusiasts throughout the UK.

The-NASC-National Association of Street Clubs was eventually founded by a group of enthusiasts in 1974 and is still going strong today. The NASC has now expanded to encompass the Street Rod, Custom, American and Drag Racing fraternities, representing a large majority of UK based and world wide enthusiasts.

43rd NASC Street Rod Nationals

This Bank Holiday weekend the 43rd NASC Street Rod Nationals was held at the Rutland showground in Oakham. Hundreds of enthusiasts with their fantastic cars met up on the show ground. Old and new friends greeted each other and all only had one thing in common-their cars.

On the Sunday the event was open to the public from 10am until 5pm and throughout the day the show ground was inundated with visitors wanting to see these amazing vehicles and their owners who lovingly cared for them. There were high horsepower Hot Rods to beautifully restored classic cars and everything in between the two. Not one visitor to the show went away disappointed.

As well as the vehicles on display there were also stands all around the edge of the show ground providing souvenirs, music, food, drinks and ice creams, and for a change the bank holiday weather played its part with wall to wall sunshine throughout the day helping to make the show a huge success.
