Wednesday 22nd of July Rutland Library is to re-open allowing access for Rutland Residents to borrow books and DVDs.
The library will be offering a reduced collection and drop-off service. Reduced opening hours will be 9.30am to 2-00pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Saturday the hours will be 9.30am to 1.00pm. Unfortunately there will be no browsing, reading or any computer services. Visitors will be expected to follow social distancing rules inside. The number of people allowed in the library at any one time will also be limited.
Rutland County Council is also considering a reduced collection and delivery service at Ketton, Uppingham and Ryhall community libraries. These will be operating one day a week after the 7th August. Confirmation of the specific days will be announced in due course.
Registered library users can order books and DVDs on line via the Rutland Libraries website. Another option is to order over the phone on 01572 722918. Once the items have been returned the items will be held in storage for 72 hours.
“We’re pleased to be able to reintroduce some physical library services from next week, taking into account the latest advice. We’re continuing to keep all local services under review, in line with government guidance. The safety of residents and staff remains our number one priority as we look to reintroduce services or ease restrictions. We also need to consider operational and resource constraints.”
Councillor Lucy Stephenson, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure
