BLM March Through Oakham
Today, Saturday 13th June, around 100 people held a BLM march through Oakham in support of anti-racism.
The walk began at the Oakham Library at 11.30 this morning and after a short while congregating there set off down the High Street to Church Street and on up to Cutts Close.
The BLM march through Oakham was a peaceful affair in which people of all ages took part. At the end of the walk the supporters were encouraged to kneel on one knee for one minute out of respect for George Floyd who was killed by police in America.
During the walk the majority of supporters wearing facemarks kept to the social distancing in line with the government’s advice.
